DBWI: WI Beauty and the Beast hadn't won the Oscar for Best Picture in 1991?

(OOC: This is based on my timeline seen here:

We all know that after the win of Beauty and the Beast Disney pushed their animation department into new heights with films like Dragon Lake and Hunchback of Notredame. But what if the film had failed to win at the Oscars? Would we have remained in the animation ghetto, or would we have still had the same trajectory?

I was under impression that only DBWI with pretty much extrapolable consequences from pre-1900 POD set in the present belonged in pre-1900. For example "DBWI: Alexander Lukashenko not elected King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1994" (a random thing that sprung up in my mind) will definitely belong to pre-1900 section.
This one is... strange.
