DBWI: Why is Europe so Right-Wing?

In the spirit of the latest iteration of "Why Is America So Left-Wing," I've decided to ask why Europe is so right-wing?

I think the reason is the Kaiserreich ruling directly or indirectly the continent since almost a century. Concepts so deep shared among europeans like monarchy, religion, nationalism and corporatism all come from german domination of europe, most of all after Berlin turned Authoritarian under Von Seekt in the 20's.

The Cold War and paranoia about Soviet subversion, constantly shifting war on terrorists from 1969 onwards in many countries [UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France], the post-1945 fascist hangover, most broadcast and printed media in the hands of right-wing ideologues, the rise and fall of the Trade Union movement, continued pathetic undemocratic attachment to monarchies/unelected bureaucrats/unelected second chambers, relative economic decline, strength of established religions in politics on the continent and contrariwise, the weakness of established religions in politics in the UK

will this do?

Not to mention the left-wing brain drain into Canada from France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Galicia and Wallachia.

In fact, southeastern Montreal is nicknamed "Little Antwerp".

Oh God why are we clogging up Post-1900 with questions best suited for chat? Can a mod move this? In the future just post a WI: European politics take a turn to the left?
