Believe it or not, Mexico is very strict about immigration. It has to be for the benefit of Mexico, and penalties are harsh, enforcement thorough.
They might ignore people headed through Mexico to the US to some extent though.

Lucky for me, the Pacific Republic has no such problems. After all, how in the world do you cross a border where every single inch of it has movement sensing cameras?

That said, we take in immigrants frequently. After all, the other Americas are so screwed up that its easy to see why people go West.

(actually, it has been proven that 58% of pacificans do drugs, so I guess you are) A full 60% of that multi-billion dollar network is off line at any given moment. We only turn back an estimated 20% of those trying to cross the border. And of course our immigration policy is liberal, its better to know who these people are, but even with our extremely easy immigration process only 40% of our immigrants are legal.

I think the one who's high must be you. I don't do drugs, and my job is to maintain the system. Checking right now, the sensors and stations report that 92% of it is online. It was so expensive that Frisco demands we keep as much of it online as humanly possible, and we haven't dropped below 90% in two years, despite many attempts by illegal immigrants and vandals to damage the system.

Right now the news is buzzing over the planned rebuilding of much of South Central Los Angeles, which is pretty crummy in many places.

I notice you can't refute any of my other statistics. Also, I happen to know that it is illegal to tell anyone without proper clearance anything about the system, so either you don't work on it, you're lying to us right now, or you are on some drugs.

I came over in the early noughts to visit my sister who has been here since the early '80s. Got out just before Bush and the Collaspe.
Only regreat is that without a valid passport I can't leave to visit the rest of Europe.

Sounds like New England to me. We're in the middle of finalizing a Boston-to-Halifax high-speed railroad, using pretty expensive technology imported from England and France, and it seems to be working well. Unemployment is below 3%, there has been a very dramatic reduction in the poverty rate - a decline of 97.8% so far - and the economy is expected to reach a 9% growth rate this season, for the 15th time in a row!

BTW, I'm going for a dentist appointment in about a couple of hours. (OOC: This is actually true - I found out last night that my appointment is today! Back to IC) Fortunately, thanks to our health care system, I can pay either the NHS rate (through Medicare) or I can have Blue Cross pay for it (through deducting the rate and the co-pay from my MSA). Since Dad is also a member of the Neighbourhood Health Board, that makes things a bit easier.

Well, if you're from New England, then under a recent Act of Parliament you can reclaim your New England nationality and citizenship. As such, you would thus be eligible for a passport. However, since you would be an overseas national, then you would qualify for the New England National (Overseas) passport, which is valid for 10 years. Me, I have a New England National (General) passport because I still live in New England. Because New England is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, you and I would thus be able to travel to any Commonwealth country, visa-free. True, you'd have to pay £30 (in New England pounds) for re-entry (via a laissez-passer that you can get at the local High Commission, which IIRC is located east of Aldwych in central London), but all your debts would be forgiven and you wouldn't have to pay any back-taxes.

Speaking as a Briton, i see no problem with the American illegal immigrants here, they are very friendly and have a good work ethic mostly and could/do benefit this country immensly.
