DBWI:What If the XFL had failed?

If XFL Failed, Portland wouldn't have its share of Pro Football team. portland Thrillers, founded in 2014, was one of first XFL's expansion teams.

I think it would have been seen as less of a joke by critics. While the matches are entertaining, the accompanying "acting" is laughable. It even beat Jerry Springer on TV Guide's "50 Worst TV Shows of All Time" list.

Goofdell might have hit the Saints harder for Bountygate without the XFL, and we wouldn't have become the first team to win a Super Bowl at home.

Plus no XFL means no threepeat for the Drunx. This decade would have been much less fun for football fans in New Orleans.

Why does the XFL have the cheesiest and worst names on the planet.

Georgia Dawg's, Portland Thrillers. The Vegas team also has an awful name. I mean the NFL names aren't that great but this is next level cheesy.

The georgia Dawgs are nickname for Georgia Bulldogs, which is NCAA team under Univ. Of Georgia, but yeah.. It does sound as cheesy as XFL team.

Couldn't they just call them the Bulldogs then? I mean its still the University of Georgia officially.

That's been an issue since the start of the league. People criticised the league for team names referencing mental illness (Memphis Maniax) and crime (Jersey Hitmen). Then of course the Birmingham Thunderbolts got their name because their original name, the Birmingham Blast, reminded people of the Ku Klux Klan's church bombing in the 60s.

To be fair, it's supposed to be cheesy. That's why they rare downplay the idea of XFL standing for "Xtreme Football League".

I know its supposed to be but damn, imagine trying to explain to people that you support the Dawg's.

They could have spent a bit more time thinking about a half decent name surely.
