DBWI: what if the US didn't join the central powers during world war 1?

OOC: Althist-chan  Reading this it it went from a thread with some interesting potential, to something that is who can FWAP FWAP FWAP FWAP the most! (using american flag of course.) But it seems to have been rescued from that fate over the last page! Thank you!

Do we have any TLs on this site regarding America joining the Central Powers? ...Besides turtledove...:D

Some other problems that have occured since the Second Great War in 1947, because of America's alliance with the Reich have been enormous. With the destruction of New York and Washington D.C., the Depression of 1953 was inevitable. Then there was the subsequent Purges of 1953-1956, led by President Joseph McCarthy. Then there was the 1960 Southern Manifesto led by George Wallace and Strom Thurmond that led to the led to the rise in "Southern Nationalism". The 1965 Birmingham Trial of Martin Luther King Jr. that led to his imprisonment until 1991 . All of these things can't be denied. While I am not trying to say that a world without the Alliance would have been great, as the youth love to say, we seriously "jumped the track" with the Alliance....

WTF are you talking about?

OOC: Citing Zoomar, America lost the Second Great War in 1947. As such, the purges in the military, the economic collapse, and the tise of "Southern nationalism" would seem to be reasonable assumptions. This also prvents any accusations of "America-wank"....

OOC: Actually, if you look at the post before that, I have Great Britain suffer under the following:

The Deployment of troops into Ireland in 1925 served to anger Catholics in America and Europe. The 1926 General Strike crippled industries from London to Edinburgh. The Food Riots of 1936 certainly forced Edward VIII to impose the dreaded "State of Emergency". When Subhas Chandra Bose launched the Indian War for Indian Independence in 1941, the Indian National Army which was trained with German and American "military advisors" caused an even greater bleed in the British populace.

That certainly doesn't sound like British-wank...

OOC: oh, but I stll don't think this should turn into "america becomes Draka Light, when it comes to morals" situation

OOC: With the purges that I mentioned in 1953-1956, the result doesn't have to be fatal. Just consider that Nixon's firing of the political leaders was called the "Valentine's Day Massacre", yet no one actually died. As for the South, justt remember that Martin Luther King Jr., is still alive and plays a role similat to Nelson Mandela. As such, it isn't so terrible...
