DBWI: What if the US actually purchased Alyaska?

So I was reading about the Russian attempts to sell Alyska in 1867 to both the British and the Americans. The Brits rejected it outright and the negotiations with the Americans ultimately went nowhere. What if Alyaska was actually sold?

In that case, all of the money from Alyaska's gold would've gone to whoever purchased it. Such would have had a detrimental effect on the finances of the Tsarist Empire.

Then there wouldn't be an Alaskan Republic today.....or the Alaskan Revolution of 1908 which started the long 80 year rivalry between the United States and Tsarist Russia.....

It's strange to call it a Republic when every president of Alaska has been of Romanov descent

The remnants of the Romanov government would not of survived and the Bulsheviks would of been masters of all of Russia. Instead the remnants and last descendants of tsar were able to escape to their only stronghold nd setup a legitimate government to rival the murdering revolutionaries in Moscow

Honestly, if Alyaska/Alaska belonged to the US, well...gold and oil I guess. Nothing we didn't already have. Certainly nice, but not going to make a massive difference in the US. How many people could we get to relocate there at all? As opposed to the 6 million Russian emigres. Frankly, American Alaska would be less developed and almost a resource colony to the US. I can see native populations being ignored to have American crews come in for resource extraction, and not a lot else.
