[OOC: So, I have been wanting to put this on Alternate History for the longest time, but I couldn't find this single picture that I knew would tie it all together. It's the first one, btw.
Let's say that the Europeans ever got very much farther than the 13 colonies, some spanish gains in the Carribean +Florida, and the French were wiped out by an alliance between the English and some Natives (and decided to try colonies elsewhere). Must of Central America is 'Mexican' (the name Aztecs used to describe themselves) and extends halfway into Texas, California, Nevada and Arizona. However, besides a smaller Russian Alaska, the rest of North America is a loose confederation of first Nations who exhanged insights into technology in order to protect themselves.
The United States has 15 states after the successful rebellion from Great Britain, and is mostly Eastern Sea-board, but more south-west and does not touch the great lakes.
I can't think of much more scenario than that, but the European powers were involved in WW1 by themselves, though the Confederation took on Japanese ambitions around the same time as WW2 in Europe; European powers decided that Japanese influence on their colonies was bad and decided to take assistance from the large, resource-filled Confederacy in destroying the Pacific War, where the Confederacy kept up a lend-lease program.
For anyone who doesn't want some random DBWI based on a mostly non-colonized North America: Beat it.]
In 1990, the Mohawk state of Kanesatake was invaded by wandering troops on a training mission for the United States of America. They were killed by a patrol of elite 'Strike Spark' forces, specifically the Flint squad.
At the border, a stand-off took place while diplomats ran to work the situation out. The United States agreed that the soldiers deaths was a tragedy, but blame was squarely placed on the commanding officer who led them in the wrong direction. However, reparations were made and the incident was put down as 'friendly fire' for the history books.
However, what if the American officer had called for help, recieved it and the war escalated?
Some photos to refresh your memory:
Look how scared that dude is! Ha, "Van Doo".
Unit flag of the 'Spark Strike' elite forces of the Mohawk Nation infront of the State flag of the Mohawk nation.
We all know that the Confederation would have won conventionally, as it had the largest military on the continent, though the Americans would have surely been the first to use the Sun-bomb on turtle island, as no state in the Confederation would have advocated it.
What do you think?
