DBWI:What if the Great Asteroid had impacted the planet?

Greetings, fellow People of Rough Skin. It has come to light that by observing the nature of passing space derbis in our solar system, the scientists of the Grassland Nation have determined that 65 million years ago, our world experianced a near miss with a space rock, dubbed 'The Great Asteroid'. Naturally, had it impacted, our great civilization of reptiles would have not come to light, but what I consider more curious is what breed would have arisen in our place. Researcher Ghhhrsskk believes that invertebrates could have freely evolved into more potent forms in our absence. What is your opinion? And please, no Carnivore conversation-disruptors.

How could mammals evolve into anything more than they were? Have you seen how small most of them are? The smartest ones are those hairy, tree climbing creatures that roam the jungles and fill our zoos and they can't do much more than fling their poo, craft poor tools and fornicate.

The theory that mammalians could become sentient is preposterous. It is far more likely that our closer cousins, the feathered, could become intelligent. As for the cephalopod theory, they do display higher brain activity than other aquatic life. I've heard of projects to outfit them with lungs, to see how they would react to terrestrial life.

ooc: The dinosaurs where still around in the 1900's? What an awesome century!

Didn't Krsshsh of the Nation Across the Central Ocean attempt that? I think the main problem is giving their bodies the necessary cartrelidge to move on land...
