DBWI -> What if Saint Helens hadn't exploded in 1981

Well as I was sitting here, in DC, watching the predicted 14 inches fall on top of the 42 inches already on the ground, I was reading a report, from a Volcan-Climatologist.

He claims that there is a fault on the north Side of St Helens,
If the Explosion had gone out the side the 11 Cubic Kilometers of ash would have devastated Washington State, but not gotten into the Stratosphere.
There would have been no Years without Summer in '82 or '83, or the colder than normal rest of the 80's.

He goes on to point out that most of the Nitro-oxide had dissipated by 1985, and thing would have returned to normal
Turns out those old wives tales about the A-Bombs affecting the weather were true after all -the nitro-oxide produced and carried aloft, inhibits the Greenhouse effect, for up to 4 years afterwards.
[Bet You were just waiting for the nutty Greenies and their Wacko Greenhouse Theory*, to be mentioned.]
Except whe had the second Eruption in '86 with 6 cubic kilometers of Ash, and then Mount Pinatubo, with 5 cubic Kilometers in '91.

And that is why whe seem to have sliped into the new Ice age.
Whe have had a lot more than the 6 cold summers in a row said to be the trigger.

Well enuff of a Break -- Back to packing --I have a couple of Uncles & Cousins in St Pete [Tampa Bay] so I hope I can stay with them.
?Any one know if there is anything to the Rumors, that Florida is going to forbid any immigration without proof of employment?

* Have you heard the latest-- Now the Greenies are saying that with out the Volcanoes, whe would be looking at a ice free Arctic by 2012.
Yeah Right:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If you have useful skills, Florida will probably take you. I am with my Dad's aunt's family in New Orleans, and having an engineering background did the trick for me. We have been dredging the channels around the area to allow continued shipping. I just hope we can keep up with the receding shoreline. The levees are going higher and higher - figure someday the micro-Ice Age will end and all that ice and snow is coming south!

Well, if it didn't happen like that, I'd probably still be in Washington now. But since Puget Sound froze over, even if it was only for a few weeks, back in 1982, I knew that Washington couldn't keep its population, and I'll be danged if I'll go through a ghost-town Seattle. So I went east, ovrer the Cascades, and into the Rockies, and that's where I stayed. I happen to be one of the folks that thrives in cold, so I manage up here.

But really, if it hadn't happen, who knows? The Argentines might have taken the Falklands in '82, and who knows where some of the warm-weather Brits might have ended up? The USSR might have fallen back in '91, if Gorbachev, Reagan, and Thatcher hadn't signed that agreement to help each other through the mess.

Heck, [cliche alert] the EU might even exist today!

Hola! Me llamo numerouno. Mis abuelos fuieron a la Cuba en 1987. Hace frio en la noche. El presidente, Jeb Bush, es simpatico, pero no simpatico por las extraterritoriales. Pero mi familia es muy importante.

I hope that was close to what I meant:
Hi. My name is numberone. My parents went to Cuba in 1987. It's cold in the night. The President (who recieved help from Ronald Reagan to conquer the Cubans) Jeb BUsh is nice, but not too foriegners. My family, however is very important.

Well, if St. Helens had not erupted, I think that the Russians would not have performed a mass genocide of India (still considered a **mystery**).
