DBWI: What if President Jose Yves Limantour wasn't Diaz's successor?

As you all know, between 1898 and 1899, Porfirio Diaz suffered several heart attacks that led to the decision not to be re-elected for the period 1900-1904 (he already had about ten years in office), decided to elect Limantour as his successor and modified the constitution to make him eligible (his parents were not Mexican). Well, you know the rest of the story.

What if Diaz didn't suffer from these heart attacks and didn't choose a successor? Would he still decide not to re-elect?

Diaz took power on the slogan of ‘no re-election’ but that only became a reality when he was clearly incredibly sick. He’d probably keep re-electing himself for another few terms until he finally got sick and then he’d do what he did OTL and choose a successor. But it might not be Limantour in TTL. Maybe someone else who wouldn’t be able to deal with General Reyes so effectively?
