With those who are interested in politics, we know that George McGovern almost won the 1972 Democratic Nomination. It's nice to imagine what would have happened if Humphrey and allies hadn't been able to effectively block him, then McGovern and his allies might have won the 1972 nomination.
What do you guys think would have been the result, who would McGovern pick as his Vice President? Do you think he would have won or lost as Humphrey did? What would be different? I think the McGovern Campaign might have approached someone like Ted Kennedy for the Vice President slot. I wonder what happens to Watergate if McGovern wins.
