Those of us of a certain age, or who are students of television history, might remember the show American Bandstand. It had been hosted by Dick Clark, who died in 1962, and showcased music stars of the day and teenagers dancing to the music of the day. Clark's show helped several artists to hit in big, until his tragic death in an automobile accident in 1962 in Philadelphia.

My question is, if Dick Clark had lived, how much infuence do you think he, or the show American Bandstand (they tried another host but the chemistry was not there and the show was canceled in 1963) would have had on American popular music, on rock and roll in particular, and on American culture and television?
