DBWI: What if Courtney Love didnt kill herself in 1994?

As we all know, Courtney Love, despite having an album with her band Hole ready to be released, was found dead, a result of a suicide, on April 8,1994. To this day, nobody knows why Love killed herself, but what if she didnt kill herself (or even had a failed suicide attempt)? How would alternative rock be different? Would Hole be even bigger (they pretty much split up after the suicide, and the failed comeback album in 1998 with Liz Phair on vocals was both an artistic and commercial disaster). Would Kurt still go for the acoustic style he went on after courtney's death and the subsequent breakup of Nirvana?

I can see Hole paving the way for a greater role for women in rock music. I don't know how long she would have stayed with Kurt though, he started distancing himself from that crowd pretty soon after her death.

She was an awful guitar player, her personality was abrasive and behavior unpredictable, her singing voice was grating to my ears, and she was an out of control drug and alcohol abuser. Her life was crashing and averting the train wreck would take some radical, definitive and intentional action on her part.

Seeing what we saw of her, I imagine she would develop into a more tragic and failed "Janice Joplyn", on a career basis. I could see Kurt breaking up with her eventually and taking Jellybean away. Otherwise her childish self-destructive behavior would have spiralled Kurt out, or worse.
