DBWI: What if Chuck Berry had lived?

Anybody here know about Chuck Berry? He was a singer in the late 40's thru to the mid-50's--came out with one album, After School Sessions, in May of 1957, and died in an automobile accident a couple of weeks later.

I've seen a couple of grainy films of him--they're on Youtube if you look around--and he seemed to have an incredible energy about him, and he certainly could play a guitar. Listening to After School Sessions, one gets the feeling that what could have been a great career was cut very short. What do you folks think?

Check out this video from the year before his death-he really is captivating as a performer. A shame he didn't live longer-he really could've changed the music scene.

Sad, but at the same time at least John Lennon is still alive and kicking. Maybe there's another universe out there were Berry is alive and someone else dies in his place or something like that.

That's all very well, but this thread is about music - not about a controversial artist like JW Lennon.

Chuck Berry's brief career had a profound on David Jones. Without Berry's rock and roll Martyrdom, British rock might not have had one of its longest lasting and most influential performers.
