The rigid airship (commonly referred to as the Zeppelin) is what many people think of when they think of air travel. The big, silver whales of the sky, after many iterations and improvements throughout its 119 years of existence, carry over 4.5 million people every single day! However, it was very close to not being this way. After the Hindenburg disaster of 1937, people started to turn to the airplane, which been growing in popularity since 1914, over the zeppelin. Luckily, the Zeppelin survived, and its rivalry with the airplane (which carries around the same number of people a day) continues aggressively, in a constant arms-race to try and 1-up eachother. However, what if the disaster killed off the Zeppelin? How would history be different?

(Not to mention that rivalry in advertisement. We would miss that for sure! What are some of your favorites?)
