DBWI: Weirdest music ever...

Yeah, so I was browsing around YouTube and I discovered this weird band from the 60's/70's called Black Sabbath. They played this odd mix of rock and roll, blues, jazz, and weird ominousness. That's the best that I can describe. After doing my research, it seems that they broke up in 1972 after only releasing one album which was only ever circulated underground in their hometown of Birmingham, England.

How fucking high were these bastards when they recorded it? Link to the weirdness here.

Wow! That shit is awesome! They remind me a bit of the MC5 and other Detroit bands of the time, at least in how loud and hard it is. I wonder, if they had gottwn bigger, if they could have ended up rivaling Punk and Glam in the 70s. That would have really changed underground!__

Aw, Deep Purple and Judas Priest wannabees. They would have stayed in their shadow if they would have continued playing that.

OOC: Wouldn't this whole scenario butterfly away Priest? At least as we know them?

OOC: Well Judas Priest might be influenced by Black Sabbath but without them they would still exist imo. If Black Sabbath existed all the way till 1972 Juas Priet is safe. They where founded almost at the same time, although Judas Priests didn't go have a final line-up untill 1974. Maybe some former members from Black Sabbath would join Judas Priest. They would still go Hard Rock too.

Thank you for mentioning Black Sabbath, I found a rare copy of their self titled and only album, only available on vinyl which sucks. Pure fucking genius. The songs are built around occult themes with references to H.P. Lovecraft and The Lord of the Rings with a solid foundation of blues rock.

The band had started work on a follow up album in the spring of 1970 when their singer John "Ozzy" Osbourne fell down a flight of stairs under mysterious circumstances, he was drunk but rumors persist that he was pushed or the band was cursed. It's tragic that this band has been largely forgotten, they deserved better.
