DBWI: Wallis Simpson doesn't die in 1935?

On August 31st, 1935, Future King Edward VIII's, alledged mistress, Wallis Simpson was killed after the car she was riding in was cut off, in the process Simpson's car swerved into a concrete pillar at nearly 90 MPH, causing Simpson to suffer major internal injury, and within in two hours her death at the London Hospital.

But what if she hadn't died? Would Edward try to marry her instead of Lady Ursala Isabel Manners, even though marrying a twice-divorced woman was socially inacceptable ? Or would he just keep her as a mistress like he is alledged to do with so many women?

I don't really see Edward VIII marrying Wallis Smpson. Like you said it would be very inacceptable marry twice divorced woman. If Edward VIII would marry her, there would rise question could Edward VIII be king. Edward VIII wasn't smartest kings in history of England but even he probably understand that he hardly can be king and marry divorced woman.

King Edward VIII is remembered fondly today even though many of those who had dealings with him as king during his short reign were to later share their true feelings of irritation and exasperation. Truth be told, he was a lazy and unfocused monarch who spent most of his three year reign sipping cocktails and indulging his passion for shallow society women. Wallis Simpson's death shook him to the core, although as callow as he was, its hard to imagine him fighting very hard to have married her or at worst, even giving up his royal prerogatives for her. Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin almost certainly would not have countenanced such a union.

King Edward's choice of a bride turned out to be fortuitous, even though Lady Ursula Manners was 22 years his junior. Their marriage in 1938 was not particularly happy, for the king refused to give up his bachelor ways. Queen Ursula did not have to put up with his nonsense for long for King Edward VIII was assassinated on the afternoon of 21 July 1939 by Jerome Brannigan while riding horseback on Constitution Hill near Buckingham Palace.

King Edward's newborn son Prince William, born on 18 April 1939, ascended the throne as King William V. No one will ever forget the role the Regent Queen Ursula heroically fulfilled during the dark days of World War II and how her wit and style influenced the modern monarchy today. As the world's longest reigning monarch, King William V has reigned now for 77 years, and Dowager Queen Ursula still lives and is hale and hearty in her 99th year.

Many historians have commented that had King Edward lived, it is no telling how the modern British monarchy would have evolved without the influence of the "Queen with the Widow's Peak" at the helm during Britain's darkest days.
