Luzon or Tagalog republic got independent as a US protectorate since 1898 until 1920 under Bonifacio and Rizal recanted his own support for Katipunan to the Spanish and wrote his third book which fostered a separate nationalism of Luzon/Tagalog Republic and the Tagalog Republic as I remembered expelled the Chinese and Spanish population from 1898 until 1920 and immigration by the chinese is frowned upon there and instead Blacks, Japanese and Indians are the primary foreigners, the Americans were able to gain the rule of the Pacific Spanish territories.
After the Spanish-American war, the Spanish secured support for their control of Palawan and Visayas against the Visayan republic ending with Visayas under Spanish control until recently, however Mindanao would end up under Germany then later Britain then Malaysia, Franco, despite his own fascism was under Chinese pressure under Qing to welcome more Chinese immigration in the Spanish Philippines.
What if Rizal and Bonifacio died and instead, Aguinaldo who wants the archipelago lives would the attitudes of the archipelago change?
