Not really. Unless we can butterfly away the military junta that sprang up after Lincoln's fall from power. Let's face it: Americans - no matter which American nation they're from - will
not suffer tyranny. Hence why the more the junta tried to hold the centre together, the more resentful and suspicious people got.
Unfortunately, Americans can sometimes be fooled by tyranny. Hence why California went Destinist and tried to overrun the Dominion of Cascadia in the War, before Canada and the CSA showed them why that was a bad idea and Japan grabbed Hawaii from them. And in doing so, gave rise to all those jokes Home Islanders (like my girlfriend) make about settlers in Hawaii being lazy and laid-back, but that's another story...
