As we all know, in the First World War, France and the UK took great care to mantain close relations with Ottomans. They knew Konstantinyye's German leanings, and feared the enourmous amount of manpower that Turkey could tie down if it joined Germany. Russia, however, detested this policy. On February 23, 1915, a Russian assassin murdered Mehmed V. Turkey instantly declared war on Russia, two months later the British and French reluctantly did so too.

However, what if the Allies had not courted Turkey? Would they have joined the Central Powers? Or would something else have happened?
