DBWI: Thoughts on "The Mirage"?

So it's an alternate history book made by someone in where there is a "United States of America" which is an "Arabian Federation" analogue which gets involved in a War on Terror against Islamic radicals.

Personally, this book is really implausible and I am not the best at suspending my disbelief. It was not an enjoyable read.

I feel like at that point it isn't even an alternate history anymore. It's just fantasyland. Nothing's happened in America since the Exchange, and the idea that there would be a war against islamic radicals is just insane. It's a blatant Crusade ripoff, updated for the modern era.

By the stars. Pick up some better reading material. Some people just suck at worldbuilding.

I liked it a lot actually. Yeah the author went a little insane with the parallels but its more of a mental experiment than straight Alternate history dedicated to plausibility.

I admit, the Author picked a good POD, with the Articles of Confederation being discarded and a strong Constitution being put into place to save the newly independent US.
