DBWI: The World A Hundred Years From Now

Most phrenologists (the understanding of which shall be much advanced in these next 100 years) already understand that the woman's head shape and brain size show they are less able to make informed decisions than men. Consequently, it will be empirically understood that a husband's guidance will be needed.

Reformists would have a dog voting in Parliament. In 2009, decisions will not be made for ROMANTIC reasons, but by scientific means. Phrenology may well determine your choice of spouse.
Oh, rubbish. I've known men who were far less intelligent and reasoned than any woman, and they have the vote at 21. If you want to be scientific, wouldn't you find a different individual voting age for everybody? I support the current laws here in Australia, where any adult Briton over the age of 21 has the right to vote. (Well, some male Aborigines also currently have the right to vote if they voted before in colonial elections pre-1902, but that's a lesser concern as their race is on the road to extinction anyway - a hundred years from now it won't be a problem.)

Oh, that reminds me - a hundred years from now I predict the Australian continent will be wholly British. By then we will have deported the Chinese and all the rest of them (like what's happened with the kanakas in Queensland), and the Aboriginal race will be dead or so diluted in British blood as to be meaningless.

I have had the honor to forward for the consideration of my fellow future speculators on this forum the thoughts of several of my correspondents. However, it appears that my lack of skill with the new device known as the "typewriter" has resulted in a confusion as to one of the names mentioned in my missive of 1 April.
My correspondent had intended to refer to Herr Albert Ballin (not "Balim" as so clumsily transcribed by me), the founder and President of the Hamburg-America Line and an advisor and confidant of the Kaiser.
Surely the leading role played by such a liberal and generous business statesman as Herr Ballin bodes well not only for the future of the Hebrew race in the German Empire but also that progressive and dynamic empire itself.
If the scourge of war can be avoided, or at least confied to the less civilized portions of the globe, our new 20th Century may very well be known as the "German Century".

Personally I think a Proleritarian revolution is inevitable in the United States. The lukewarm progressives such as Roosevelt has failed to satisfy the masses and the middle class will inevitably shrink as the more successful and intelligent of them become part of the upper class while the rest become slightly more better off working class people. The oligarchy will probably use Oriental and Negro laborers to replace the working class. This will result in revolution by my estimates by 1950 or earlier. Read the Iron Heel by Mr. Jack London for a vison of the future.

(OOC: Obviously someone from a very different perspective then myself...)

Look everyone, i doubt communism will ever catch on, it just to silly, the whole "Workers of the world unite." thing is nonsense, the idea for example that a worker in Manchester should the the comrade of a Worker in Petrograd is nonsense, people are to emotionaly welded to thier nations and empires to be interested, workers revolution is a dead horse if you ask me.

But i do see a more powerful Germany, it has huge potential to dominate the continent if France, Russia and Britain don't get there act together. I realy can't see Austria Hungary lasting much longer, the Hapsburgs are inbred fools, plus the balkans are tired of undue influence by any power. Same with the Ottomans, i realy can't see them surviving beyond the next 2 decades intact. In both cases, the power vacume to have devastating consiquinses.

Anyway, as for questains about Britain, i think we have pretty much guaranteed ourselves a place in the sun for the next century. We are to smart to get involved in any continental war, if there ever is one, and even if we do, we have the largest and best navy in the world. Gemrnan Naval streangh will never be able to compare, evan with the canal at Keil Being windend, they will remain a second class navy if you ask me.

The Empire realy has no huge porblems in Africa to speak of, evan in South Afirca, and in the event of any continenal war, Germany's colonies are easy picking's.

If you ask me, the empries greatest concern is the balance of power in the far east. As someone mentioned, China's on the verge of revolution, Japan recently shat all over the Russians in manchuria, and Japan has had designs on china for ages, and i suspect they might also have thier sights set on europe's asian coloneis.

As for the United States, they are to isolated and self obsessed to get involved in any world wide conflict.

But these are just my ignorant views, the future will probably be very differant...

C'mon people we all know the truth. The communists will be fighting over stale bread and our grand nation America will be boomin' forever. Germany will be gone after killing itself in the German Austrian war in 1914. Our great leader will be a descendant of our great president Theodore Roosevelt. The crazy communists won't know what they are missin'. Our capitalist gains will out beat any form of socialism.

FEH!
always thinking America will be the one to Emerge a World Power, when the last war you fought was against that Decreptied Spanish 'Empire'.
you haven't fought a major world Power for years, and you think you'll just get the Spotlight.

I just have to laugh at Germany "killing itself" fighting Austria. That would be the most one-sided fight since...well, the Austro-Prussian war!

Of course Germany fighting Russia and France, as its leaders so fear, would be ugly. But like I said earlier, such major wars are a thing of the past.
