DBWI: The West intervened in Libya?

The last pockets of resistance to Gaddafi were crushed today, so I figured it was time to think about this revolution that could've been.

Last March, the US and other western powers made the fateful decision not to intervene in Libya. We all know the rest-the Benghazi Massacre, the public execution of Mustafa Abdul Jalil, etc.

So, by question is: could western intervention have made the difference in Libya?

Hey, lest we forget, the US sent prisoners to be tortured under Khadafi. Given Obama's lack of "change" (and his Secretary of State and VP's remarks in support for Mubarak and the government of Bahrain...and willingness to lie about bombing Yemenis in Yemen...and on and on...), what was there to expect from him? (And you can bet the Republicans who are in favor of anything Obama opposes would be pushing for impeachment.)
Of course, we can all blame Carter and Reagan for getting us into this Mideast mess. And this may help topple Berlusconi to boot.

If the west intervened in Libya it would be another Iraq style quagmire. Most likely the war would go on for years and eventually the west would withdraw, allowing Gadaffi or one of his sons to crush the rebellion (at a very high cost however).

If that no-fly zone was implemented to stop the air attacks on both protesters and armed rebels alike, MAYBE the revolution would be quick and successful.

Also, that could prevent Misurata from being recaptured, which really seemed to break the back of the revolt long before it's end today. We know after that, the loyalists marched along the coast and eventually made their way to Benghazi...

The leaked pictures from the city after the bombardment and the massacre were indescribable...

You don't say mate but a no-fly zone wouldn't have done anything. The only way can intervention could have lead to an anti-Gadaffi victory is if it involved boots on the ground and lets be honest, no western government wants another intervention in an Arab country.
