OOC: Inspired by this thread.
--------------------------------------------
Since the anniversary of the infamous Stockholm peace treaty is coming up, I thought I`d ask this question to all the SGW experts out there. There are a lot of threads dealing with the last great Soviet offensive (operation Suvorov) which tried to undo the sucess of the late-war European counteroffensives and gave the world its first (and only) superheavy tank deployment in recorded history, but few about the european plans.
So what if the European Allies had decided to carry out the fabled Vistula offensives after Suvorov?
How sucessful would they have been so late in the war, and would they have achieved their tactical and strategic goals?
Would it`s sucess have led to other offensives to liberate the rest of Eastern Europe?
To all those unfamiliar with the Vistula offensives, here is a rough overview of the war-plan I drew. Forgive the post-war borders.
