DBWI:The Viet Cong did not attack CONUS in 1963?

In response to the US support of the South Vietnamese government,a faction of the Viet Cong hijacked three commercial airliners to attack the US in 1963.Two crashed into the Empire State Building while the third one crashed into the White House, successfully killing then president John F Kennedy. LBJ,who was not in the White House at the time, succeeded JFK soon afterwards. This faction of the Viet Cong admitted involvement not long afterwards.Although it is now known that this faction of the Viet Cong acted in defiance of Hanoi’s wishes, this was not known/believed by the US until years later. What would have happened if Hanoi was able to better control this faction of the Viet Cong and prevent the 1963 attacks?

Soviet dropped North Vietnam like hot potato, and Mao end up causing The Third Chinese Civil War when it was clear that he is mad enough to side with the crazies. Or ordering the crazies, according to Khruschev.

The Full-scale US Invasion of North Vietnam end up being a relatively *clean and quick* War. But The Third Chinese Civil War is a mess when Mao ordered his men to nuke their own Chinese Cities.

At least Khrushchev is sane and rational enough to look inward first and institute Soviet Reform to root out the "Maoist Insanity" while moving towards de escalation with US.

Didn't it end in a quadrumvirate of Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, and Zhou Enlai overthrowing the Maoist regime?
"Quadrumvirate". Now that's a great word!

It was them, but the help of the US, who were looking for anyone to rule China but the guy who thought he'd nuke Kauai and Maui while the US were busy in Vietnam, cannot be acknowledged too much.

"Better the Commies who think that the PRC should emulate the USSR than the whacko they replaced" summed up D.C's view on the four men who overthrew Mao.

Anyways, any cultural impact of no Viet Cong terrorist attack? For starters, Elizabeth Taylor wouldn't have been killed as she had the misfortune of being onboard Flight 42, which was one of the three planes hijacked that fateful day.

At least the madness of North Vietnam and Mao is the push that caused Khrushchev-Tito-Hoxha Rapprochement and widespread Democratic-Communism movements in all Communist Bloc countries which resulted in stable, non-authoritarian Communist states whose aim is to honestly move humanity toward age of Communism instead of being, in Khrushchev's words "using Communism to veil personal greed for power".

Without the Vietcongs, there will be no push toward the Age of Communism and Post-Capitalist Socialism. Khrushchev really took "self-criticism" well and become the Leader we need in the most trying time.

"Hawaii" definitely wouldn't be a byword for political instability. Turns out becoming independent with a parliamentary system isn't such a great idea where two of your islands are all but uninhabitable.

What came of Taiwan’s offer at joint administration of the mainland?
The ROC Expedition Force, allied with the US that piggybacked on Initial Stage of Vietnam War and International intervention of Third Chinese Civil War definitely get a hold on Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan, with UK and Portugal agreeing to cede Hong Kong and Macau as soon as the ROC managed to install permanent government in Southern part of Chinese Mainland.

They did end up shouldering most of the reparations of Guangzhou and Shanghai, that was wrecked by Mao's Atomic attack, but the later is the very reason why Southern Chinese Regions end up declaring for Kuomintang while North China end up embroiled in brutal Civil War.

The Soviet Union let them do that because the Soviet Intervention end up liberating Uyghuristan, Mongolia end up taking the Chinese Inner Mongolia, while India end up liberating Tibet.

Sure, the Kuomintang government of ROC still kind of salty about "The Mutilation of China", but then, they are under no illusion about their capability in taking the Whole China by themselves.

The now reduced People's Republic of China still being the strongest Chinese state after the Third Civil War, but this time, with their nuclear arms basically forcibly ripped out with Joint US-Soviet Force, all they can do is reforming themselves into Democratic Communism under the Soviet Guidelines.
