The Sicilians seem to be shoe-ins for the the Gentleman's Quartet: Shooting, Horseback Riding, Sword Fighting, and Ballroom Dancing.
I think the Mongolian Empire has a good chance of winning some golds this year, the Tsar seems to really want to stick it to the Moscuvites ever since the Russian Civil War.
I wouldn't be so assured about the Samoans.
From what I've seen thus far, it looks like their building has payed off, and the Samoans will likely have a serious challenger for once.
EDIT: I really hope that there's a match between Vaai Alesana and Toyomoto Hideki.
That would be a clash of the titans if the sport has ever seen one.

The Tsar is always up to something Nukes, Economics, you name it but I don't see any purpose for changing his country's nickname. (Mongolia is still officially the Russian Empire you know)I was a tad bit puzzled by the opening Parade Of Nations...the announcers dropped the "Empire" from Mongolia's name. broadcaster bias, or is the Tsar up to something?
Not if the Italians have anything to say about it.the Tajiks've been doing spectacularly well lately (eight years ago, they were in 5th place; four years ago, they won Bronze)...so maybe there's a chance.
No, we didn't. We got silver.USA will win gold in Motorized Jousting again!
USA! USA! USA!
(though the Sandwich Islanders will probably win Womens Gymnastics this time)
I'm thinking the British actually have a chance here. They've won bronze for the last three Olympices, and the team looks a lot stronger than it has been.Who'll win gold in Soapbox this time? Traditional winners such as Afghanistan or Scotland? Or maybe a contender such as the Papal States who won Silver in Rio de Janeiro 4 years ago?

Other than that, Afghanistan is probably the best bet.
OOC: One of the early posts mentioned British athletes coming from all over the empire.Yes there are a few Welsh that should get at least bronze but I have doubts they'll win gold.
OOC: I assume that by British you mean England and Wales.
I don't think so. Polynesia has that medal locked up pretty tight, though Scandinavia is slipping somewhat these recent years. I'm thinking the Republic of California has a decent chance of winning bronze.
