DBWI: The Mongols don't ravage Europe

OOC: For me this is bit ASB. Perhaps just unified Scandinavia and Britain as separated nations. I can't see such country forming.

Several intermarriages between Denmark and England for a 100 years, while Denmark intermarries with its ex-Kalmar friends. One day, Danish (Scandinavian by this point?) king dies and leaves it to his 2nd cousin, a girl betrothed to the underage King of England. Poof we did this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_of_the_Crowns to Britian and Scandinavia.

Kalmar Union had troubles.

But before the Mongols came, the Hapsburgs were on the rise. From 1200s, no one would have seen that a series of marriage alliances would have led to becoming Holy Roman Emperors and holding lots of land. That's why Britain and the three Scandinavians have the same crown. If the Mongols didn't sack Europe, the unlikely rise of them is butterflied away.
