Hans-Jürgen Massaquoi, affectionately referred to as der Schwarzkeizer due to his royal background, OTL became Germany's Chancellor following the collapse of the Nazi Regime.

The grandson of King Momolu the Galinas, he was always considered very bright academically and had a strong desire to represent the German state. As a youth he desired to join the Hitler Youth and become an engineer, but it wasn't in the cards in Hitler's Reich. When rejected from the SS, he was told by the recruiter that despite being a non-Aryan, when Germany retook its colonies there could be a prominent role for him.

While Germany never would regain its colonies in Africa, the Reich would look more towards Africa over time for trade and diplomatic purposes. Massaquoi's Aryan Heritage, noble background, and natural intelligence made him a natural decision for foreign postings. He would go on to hold the positions
  • Governor of the Colony of German Giunea
  • Ambassador to Liberia
  • Ambassador to Uganda
  • Director of the state-owned Benin Oil Corporation (BOK)
  • Chief Trade Delegate to Portugal-in-Africa
Within Germany he was also something of a cultural icon. As the Reich realized that it could not keep out western music but instead would need to provide a domestic alternative, Massaquoi came forward with an alternative. Skilled with the Saxophone, his artistic synthesis of the saxophone with traditional German folk made him popular with the public.

As Massaquois gradually became the Reich's most popular official, he realized that there was a bubbling movement within the government to assassinate him for ideological purposes. He would proceed to defect from the Reich in the 1970s and become the face of the Freie Demokraten movement. When Fascism collapsed, he would go on to become Germany's first Democratic Chancellor in over 60 years.

After his Chancellorship, Massaquois would become international Editor of Ebony Magazine, accept a Board Position on the then-privatized BOK, and partially-retire to Liberia, where he accepted the crown of the Galinas and would oversee the BOK's Liberian and Guinean operations. His friendship with President Sirleaf, also of mixed German-Liberian background, became a fascinating subject of coverage in both the German and Liberian press.

Had France and Britain gone to war with Germany over Poland, and Germany proceeding to be defeated in a two-front war between the British, French, and Soviets (and Americans?) what would have been the fate of Hans Massaquois?
