left to right: Margarida Souza Uva (president of the EU commision), Akie Abe (Prime Minister of Japan), Laura Bush (President of the United States), Angela Merkel (federal chancellor of Germany and summit host), Cherie Blair (prime minster of the United Kingdom), Ludmila Alexandrovna Putina (President of Russia), Laureen Harper (Prime Minister of Canada) and Flavia Franzoni Prodi (Prime Minister of Italy). French president Cécilia Ciganer- Sarkozy had to leave the summit earlier, due to the situation in Marseille.

The 2007 G8 summit in Heiligendamm is over. Apart from the political decisions made, this summit was remarkable for being the first time all the attending nations, since the election of Akie Abe last year, have women as their heads of government.

What is your opinion on the summit? Do you agree with the plans to deal with global warming, and the increased education for Africa program? What about terrorism, and the situation in Cuba?
And do you think international politics have improved now, with women at the helm? Are we at the dawn of a new age of tolerance, as German vice- chancellor Klaus Wowereit stated? Or rather an age of feminist rule and 'sissification', as stated by US senator Rush Limbaugh?

With the candidates for the american presidential election next year, it seems that we may witness a time indeed where women will decide the fate of our world.

This shows, again, that women are much better heads of states than men, as most international conflicts during the past years were resolved by peaceful means and a new age of international cooperation has begun. I think that humanity should continue electing female leaders...
Who knows? Perhaps we can archieve world peace and other important matters men couldn't do?

I always feel like women are dressed down. Men, you know when we're dressed up- we're wearing a suit and tie. Women... ?

Mind you, this is in no way saying President Bush should be in a dress.

Plans? What plans? There has been no change from Congress rejecting to ratify the Kyoto Protocols that were initially proposed ahead of schedule in 2003, and most every country is still on a "up to yourselves" attitude. The ones who make the most noise about it are the ones who restrictions would hurt least/help, and still no one tries to involve the developing world.

and the increased education for Africa program?
I've seen the offered classes. "The History of Civilization" planned by German teachers, "Free and Liberal Government" by the US, and "Social Justice" from France. It reeks of chauvinistic self-superiority of the US and Europe, and there are few things that affect the current problems in Africa. You know, warlords and anarchy.

What about terrorism,
Not tough enough, though you can tell Madam President Bush has been listening to the conservative wing of the Republican party recently. Using Interpol to coordinate watch lists? Good. Using a UN court to try them? Pathetic, though you know no one's going to only do that.

and the situation in Cuba?
No matter what the situation is, I prefer not to see French and German troops near the US. Hypocritical? Maybe. But the current situation wouldn't have been there had Madame Bush not accepted the "Reciprocating Peace" plan over Cuba and Saudi.

And do you think international politics have improved now, with women at the helm? Are we at the dawn of a new age of tolerance, as German vice- chancellor Klaus Wowereit stated? Or rather an age of feminist rule and 'sissification', as stated by US senator Rush Limbaugh?
Anyone who thinks that women are sissies as leaders obviously has forgotten their principles from school. Anyone who thinks that women are anymore tolerant than men has also forgotten their principles from school, as well as many other cases. Madam President Bush and the other leaders sure didn't preach "Cultural tolerance" when they went and invaded Saudi after 9-11, after all, no matter how much they spoke of gender tolerance.

With the candidates for the american presidential election next year, it seems that we may witness a time indeed where women will decide the fate of our world.
Women are the sole controllers of this world as much as men have been. Which is to say, behind the scenes people of both genders are pulling the strings to make things work. Would you deny the influence First Husband George has, or Adviser Rove?

Right, because we have a lot of peace right now.

Such as the continuing quagmire in Saudi in 9-11, when the decision to take out "the foulest nest in intolerance and bigotry in the world" (Laura Bush, 3-12-02) led to the US invading the country with the holiest sites of all Islam, overthrowing our ally against Saddam and Iran in hopes to get control over the world's greatest oil supply. And now we not only have Iran and Iraq supplying AQ and insurgents in Afghanistan, but we also have them doing so in Saudi where the people hated us from the beginning, and only our allies kept the place calm. All because of the actions of 11 radicals and the leadership's piss poor attitude towards women.

Or Cuba, with that total mess over there (though in fairness to Bush, Castro's sudden demise early in her term upset that situation to begin with).

Or the Asia, where the US has taken a blow in three years that has unraveled the work of twenty, as the end of the Korean War was finally achieved! At the trifle cost of much of South Korea's most prosperous regions, thousands of American lives alone, and attacks on Japan as well. Oh, and relations with the two, but that's minor after Madame Bush's failed use of the nuclear card and other pressures after the NK nuke test prompted NK to open fire.

But who cares! They were bastards, and deserved it! We did it hand in hand with allies*, so it wasn't unilateral!

*European allies in Saudi having been secured with promises of oil contracts and involvement in Cuban reconstruction as well. Allies in Asia being there because, well, we were fighting in their house.

Women leadership are great for peace, after all!

Then Again....

While it is certainly a sign of the times, the leading political thinkers believe that the role of female leaders of the G-8 is that support is certainly broad, but it is also very weak. Just consider the loss of the 1995 mayoral race of Anita Ross (D-CA) against Professor Maximillian Arturo (I-CA) in San Francisco, CA despite the support of President Hillary Clinton. Then again, you also have the rise of the fanatical ultra-feminist Daughters of the Amazon since the biological warfare attack in 2002.
