DBWI: The 100th Anniversary of "Steam Trek"

In 1908, the American film-viewing public was treated to the adventures of "Captain James T. Kirk", considered the "Horatio Hornblower of the Skies" and his adventures "...in the distant year 1980". Many people at the time compared the antics of the character to President Theodore Roosevelt, considered a symbol of American youth and vigor at the time. Eugene Roddenberry of Los Angeles, California had no idea as to the phenomemon he had created.
