TASS

At 12 noon today, the Kingdom of Syria and the Emirate of the Trans-Jordan have jointly detonated a 15 kiloton device in the Palestinian desert, in what both governments describe as a demonstration of their ability to defend themselves against the '...blasphemous and...false rule of the Russian-backed Iraqi and...Iranian regimes...'

After conferring with Tsar Alexander IV, and representatives of the other members of the Grand Alliance, Russian Prime Minister Nikolai Vladimirovich Kamarov has condemned the Syrian and Jordani nuclear test as unnecessarily provocative, and disruptive to the stability of the entire region.

Is the Middle East going to start WWIII, just like it started WWII?

The Republic of China's government has just condemned the nuclear test with the Chinese President declaring that the Republic of China does not condone wanton nuclear programs.

The Grand Alliance is falling in line with Moscow or rather St. Petersburg, as expected :(

The German Empire, the Kingdoms of Italy, Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, the Republic of Hungary, and the Empire of Japan have all echoed the Russian opposition, and voice support for the Kingdoms of Iraq and Iran in the face of nuclear aggression. Surprisingly, the Indian Union while echoing the rest of its allies' sentiments, are calling for Round Table talks in a neutral location to defuse the situation. I wonder how Washington is going to respond to this.

This is not a "DBWI" (double-blind what if). A DBWI is some OTL circumstance, proposed as AH in a TL where it didn't happen, with "speculation" about possible consequences, and details of the ATL given as implications.

E.g. "What If... Napoleon had no living legitimate descendants? Would the restored Kings of France hold power past 1840? or even till now? Or be replaced by a Republic? Would Germany have unified in the 1800s?"

OOC: Eh, I'm entirely happy with this as a DBWI. It's creating a shared ATL through mutual discussion, which is what DBWIs do. There's several similar ones. And it's fun :)

The US government has just released a statement condemning the nuclear test and calling for talks in a neutral location like Switzerland or Sweden.

OOС - TASS is translated as a telegraph agency of the Soviet Union. In Russia they do not change their name only because of their nostalgia (the official name is the Information Telegraph Agency of Russia (ITAR-TASS)). Originally it was called ... Trade and Telegraph Agency (TTA), 1902-1904;
The St. Petersburg Telegraph Agency (SPbTA), 1904-1914;
The Petrograd Telegraph Agency (PTA).
