DBWI South Korea doesn't win the Korean war

Soviet Collective leadership post 1953 was conditioned by the slow reform processes in Comecon generally. After the Poznan and Szeged “negotiations” collective leadership became habitual. Even the expulsion of the “anti-party bloc” was done in the context of the Mikoyan-Zhukov-Khrushchev line’s reaffirmation of plurality of Bolshevik conscience. Now admittedly this didn’t allow “social-democratic” lines in the Soviet Union. But the SocDems in Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Poland proved themselves to be left of the Western Soc dems and often left of the CPSU.

So yeah “gang of four,” because Western newspapers can’t handle complex democratic negotiation.

My question is how would this effect the cold war? Would the soviet union still collapse in 2001? Would the gang of four rule the country into the 80s like OTL?

Would Korea still be an economic juggernaught?
Changing the name and letting the Baltic states leave to become satellite states is hardly a collapse.

Okay, the new "United Workers' Republics" also left Armenia and, I think, Azerbaijan(?) alone, but even then. "Collapse" is just far-right propaganda.

Where did you get this neo-Piątekist conspiracy theory/propaganda from?

For South Korea to lose the war the United States would have had to have failed to support the Korean state with heavy weapons from the beginning: ie 1945. The Northern advance blunted itself early in the effectively organised motorised movements of defensive infantry, organised in coordinated combined arms radio nets, and commanded by skilled trained officers selected by competence.

These officers had sharpened their teeth in anti-partisan operations that were effective and well conducted.

For South Korea to lose the development of capacities in the United States best Asian ally would have had to be neglected from the beginning and supplemented by the kind of gross incompetence seen in the ROC or Phillipines anti communist fights.

OOC: obviously such was not in history
