1975: With President Nixon's approval ratings in the the high 60's, and with his term in office winding down, the topic of repealing the 22nd Amendment has gained traction in at least popular thought and is sparking tension on the hill. President Nixon, for his part, has not dismissed it, and has said offhandedly that he would consider running for a third term if so allowed. However, the Democrat controlled Congress, even with some members friendly to the man who is perhaps the most popular President since Roosevelt, is divided on the issue and actual public reception to an outright amendment is lukewarm.

So should the 22nd amendment be repealed or amended to give Nixon a third term?
