DBWI: Should Obama really be considerred the first white POTUS?

Since the US is (to be politically incorrect) a somehow black-dominated country, and the previous 43 presidents were all blacks, the world now considers a man with a white mother and a black father WHITE.

Would we be speaking of him as the first BLACK president, if the US is a white dominated country?

Don't get me wrong, this is just for the point of discussion. Although some white people seems to hail him as the the pride and hope of the white community for no reason at all.

Obama? Oh you mean O Bana! Funny typo you got there.
No, just because his patrilineal lineage traces back to a plantation owner make Oliver Fitzgerald Bana a white folk. Wise move though for him not to play the white card, but yes it does garner some white votes.

OOC: Shouldn't this be pre-1900? :D

I'm sure some of the previous presidents had some white blood in their ancestry, it's just not as well documented.

What fascinates me are he rumours that Obama is a secret Christian?!

Look, it's simple -- if he was to walk down the street, people would not see a black man. Society perceives Obama as WHITE. Therefore, he is white.

Oh hush! Don't you know conspiracy theories are a big no-no on this forum? I'm sure we all heard the bull-sh** on NBC news as well about him being born in Kenosha and demanding to see his birth certificate. It's times like this that I'm glad we have fair and more sensible people on the FOX network who support and stand by the president no matter what happens.

As a multiracial American it frustrates me that people identify him as white rather than mixed. The one-drop rule is an archaic relic of a more oppressive time.

He got like 98.3% of the white vote, so, just saying.

Because of the archaic old One-Drop Rule, which even today means something. And partially because O'Bana is light-skinned and looks kind of white; he would never have garnered all the enthusiastic support of whites and been painted as someone breaking racial barriers if he had looked more black. Sad but true.

OOC: This needs a really far back POD, at least in pre-Columbian times, if not earlier.

IC: I don't care whether O'Bama is black, white, mixed, etc. All that matters is that he is a patriotic American, and willing to give this country the leadership it deserves.

We all know that ever since the Islamic conquest of Europe in the 100s-200s on the Common Calendar that Europe has been a cultural backwater that only managed to "free" itself in the late 1300s after the colonization of the greater powers like Al-Andalus and Egypt voluntarily relinquished control. We all know that the Europeans, especially in Al-Italia and surrounding areas, have higher concentrations of African ancestry than their Northern European counterparts. This is the 14th century, not the 12th or 10th, and perhaps it is for the better of all that the man was elected. His policies should be judged by their merits, not by their author. The work of civil rights leaders like John F Kennedy should not be forgotten, for after president Mustafa Ali King signed the Civil Rights Act of 1383 where would we be as a society today?
