Well, I am sure all the newspaper articles, and especially the photographs of "Uggsie" and "Muggsie" may have had a hand in sentimentalizing the issue, but the Nordic slaughter had much to do with it. It was a small price to pay, trading the extermination of the Nordics in the Scandahoovian Peninsula for the lives of all those baby seals.
