DBWI: Schulenberg fails.

So what if, on July 27, 1940, Friedrich Werner von Schulenberg's assassination of Hitler fails? I guess the first thing is to determine how this happens. I've read that Hitler was reconsidering his victory parade. Is this enough? If so what happens next?

I honestly don't know, but I don't think it'd have much of an effect on the war itself and it certainly wouldn't have butterflied the Holocaust, or the massacre at Stalingrad. :( But given how incompetent Hitler was starting to become, it's possible the war might have ended in 1944 or '45, instead of April '46 as per OTL.

Well a Hitler could have done something crazy like invade the Soviet Union and who knows maybe it would have worked (communits are rather incompetent, just look at the Finnish war) unlike the Military Junta who took over Germany who did nothing much after that point (their attempts to take Eqypt rather pathetic because of supply difficulties) , England just grew stronger, the USA already at war with Japan after Dec 41, got involved in the Summer of 42, the Soviet Union attacked in 43, the Abombs started falling in 45 and that was that.

Maybe taking the Soviet Union in 41 when they had the chance would have given Hitler and Germany the resources they needed to win.

OOC: Holy Parallel universe Batman!

OOC: *LOLs at Batman reference* :p. Well, I suppose you have a good point, but I'm afraid the Holocaust was practically inevitable from the minute Hitler took over in 1933. He despised Jews to the point of wanting them all dead in '42, and the same in '33, too, I suspect. He was just that fucked up. :(

OOC: But with Hitler gone, is that a priority anymore?
