I just read Going Left to Be Right by Ron Dellums, it was a very fascinating read about the hell of the 80s. It got me interesting in learning about Rumsfeld and his cronies. I found out that Rummy's first run for Governor was only won by 1% over Secretary of State Michael Howlett.
Let's say that there is a .7% shift to Howlett, so he wins.
Does this knock Rumsfeld out of politics? Would he try in 1978 for a rematch? If he doesn't run in 1980, who takes it?
Personally, I'd say that Carey's chances are better against a less known Politician like Chuck Percy.
OOC: This is a DBWI for Rumsfeldia, for those who are confused.
