The collapse of the Roman Empire was one of the most decisive events in history. In only a few decades what had once ruled the Medditerranean had been reduced to Italia by invasions from the Sassanids and Goths and the independence of the Gallic Empire of Postumus. The world would never be the same. So, how could this be avoided? I'd say the last chance would be to avoid the conquest of the East by Shapur the Great. Shapur conquered a new Persian a Empire stretching from the Indus to Nikomedia and Alexandria. So, I'd say that if Valerian had beaten him you could avert his conquest, and if you do that the Empire still has a reliable supply of grain from Africa and Egypt. I still don't think, though, that this would have been enough as it doesn't solve the fundamental problem Arome faced, that the legions simply could no longer defend the Empire. So, how miht the Collapse of the Third Century be prevented, and what changes would result?
