For example, take the ethical, religious, and personal issue of abortion. Yes, while I appreciate that direct, tangible social services are readily available to low-income pregnant women, much more so than in the past, and while I appreciate the fact that current laws give exceptions for the " . . physical or psychological health of the pregnant woman . . " and that the fines for a doctor performing an illegal abortion are modest in any case . . .
All the same, I'd prefer for abortion to be legal as part of a person's control over their own body, and in keeping with the principle that a person themselves should decide the context and circumstances in which they're able to and choose to help another person.
Men are not able to get pregnant, and we don't seem to realize that this sets up a big double standard!
