OOC there is an abuse of the ASB definition on this site.
IC Bavaria ascendance was a semi-miracoulous event in OTL with Baden line getting extinguished and Ludwig I diplomatic ability at Vienna. Who would have everthought to empower Prussia? Heck, in 1853 they tried to bully a dragon (Austria) and lost Silesia in the process; I don't see them being able to unite Germany.
Ironically, france might want a strong Prussia. It would be a real threat to Austria, which was the second main rival to France after Britain. Especially as relations cooled again due to the whole "beheading one of Austria's leading princesses and beating them up like five times"

Well, Austria has been correctly described as a nation of Slavs, Transylvanians, and Magyars with German-speaking Monarch at the top.

Yeah, the Austrian-Germans are obviously a minority in their own Empire, more so after the constitutional reform of 1920 that basically turned their Politics into Magyar vs Slav voting blocks. Sure, that kind of arrangement is kind of stable, even until now, but it's still kind of awkward.
