DBWI:President McCain dies of heart attack

At 0600 hours this morning, President John McCain was found dead in the White House after suffering a heart attack. It has been known that he was suffering from stress and illness beforehand. Many feel that this cannot bode well for the United States. What are your thoughts on this? Will you mourn, or not?

OOC:No wank or anti-wank, of course.

I certainly mour tha passing of any President, especially one I voted for.

Timesmight be a bit tough, but I have every confidence that Romney will make a fine President.

OOC:Thank goodness, no President Palin

IC:It's a sad day, I mourn his passing.
OOC: Yeah, I figured that would kill things and turn this into a stupid thread faster than you can say Jack Robinson.

IC: Any thoughts on who Romney might tap for his VP?

OOC: Thank you for not making Palin VP.

IC:

I didn't vote for him, but he was a good president. I hope Romney doesn't turn the country into a theocracy.

Well, Romney has certainly gotten off on the right foot. He was smart enough to get on TV first thing this morning, and his remarks were the right balance of reassurance, confidence, and mourning. Did you see the look Cindy McCain was shooting him during the swearing-in ceremony though? What the hell is that all about?

For veep I've already heard former Secreatary of Defense Bob Gates' name mentioned.

It was the shock of winning the Nobel Peace prize that did for poor ol' Johnny Mclean's ticker...

Well, could be. It did sort of come out of nowhere considering the way the first eight months of his presidency have gone.

Well, the Israeli-Palestine treaty seems to be almost done at the moment. I heard his death has finally convinced the hardliners on both sides.

I'm sorry about his death. While his foreign policy has turned me into a McCain opponent (It was poor judgment to go into Iran while we were still in North Korea...), I support many of his domestic policies. He steered the Republican Party away from the Religious Right's dominance, he maintained a balanced budget (and even paid down the debt) until we went into Iran, and he helped reform Campaign Finance! He has made quite an impact. I shudder to think what would have happened had Gore won in 2000...or, worse, if Bush had beaten him in the primaries. (I'm still bitter over Bush's "win" in SC, but I'm glad it turned out to be a Pyrrhic victory...)
Who is this Palin you're talking about? The Alaskan Mayor who tried to run for Governor? While I'm normally supportive of Third Party candidates (and secessionists, in some cases), she's far too wacko for me. Besides, Governor Green trounced her soundly...

I liked McCain. He was a nice centrist, shame he had to die

Rommney is just a bit too right wing for me in all honesty.

OOC: It's been established that McCain was president for 8 months

I din't vote for him, and I honestly though Hillary would win, but Even so, he was a pretty good president.

OOC: sense no one's said who the Democrat's canidate was...

OOC: *psh* no guts to try and start a discussion about a President Palin?? :p

IC: I'm quite bummed out about this, because he was quite a good president, warts and all. Didn't always agree with some of his policies (felt he was a little too quick to appease the Left at times), but he was still a good man. Feel sorry for his wife and family.

What is this suddenly??? The early 1900's???

I'm not going to mourn the asshole, he's done nothing but keep the Bush era polices alive, and thus has damaged this country. The only thing I'm mourning for is us now that Romney's in charge.

OOC:Er...we've established that Palin's got nowhere in this...
