In 2010, here in the U.S. and Canada, General Motors have these brands left:
- Chevrolet
- Buick
- Cadillac
- GMC
- Pontiac
Hummer was discontinued, Saturn sold off in 2009, and Saab sold to the Dutch.
What if, in another timeline, General Motors had discontinued Pontiac, wouldn't there have been outrage? I know that 2 years ago in 2008 they considered nixing the brand, but no, they didn't in the end.
Currently for 2010, Pontiac offers:
- G3 Wave (rebadged Chevrolet Aveo)
- Vibe (it's a Toyota, why bother when I can have the Toyota Matrix for slightly more?)
- G6 (like a Chevy Malibu)
- G8 (not many available of this big Aussie sedan for now)
- Torrent (it's an SUV, only good as a V6)
Why would they want to kill off Pontiac?
I already own a 2008 Pontiac G6 3.5 V6 GT sedan, pretty awesome for a car, looks kinda cool, drive it here in SoCal. I'd nearly bought a Camry... but... damn, this is good!
Why would GM want to kill off a sporty brand like this? If they did, I'm gunna go for a Lexus!
