In September 1940, Germany launched its attempted invasion of Great Britain. Everyone is more or less familiar with how that went--the Germans were utterly defeated in a matter of days and Operation Sealion went down in history as one of the most spectacular (and, honestly, almost kind of hilarious) failures in military history. But what if the Germans had never tried it, and just sort of left plans for an invasion of Britain on the back burner?
