Many historians consider the Battle of at the Garonne one of the most decisive battles in history: In the year 732, the Franks under Odo the Great defeated the forces of the Umayyads at the river Garonne. The general consent amongst historians is that this stopped the expansion of Islam into Europe, and that it ultimately helped to establish Frankish dominance over western Europe.

However, what if he was defeated instead? Would the Franks have been able to stop the Islamic expansion into Europe father in the north. For example, it's entirely possible that Charles Martel could have pulled off something similar as Odo did in OTL farther into the north (even though many people think that at that point, the Franks would have been too weakened for that), or would they just have been inevitably defeated by the Arabs?
