DBWI: Norman England?

Around the middle of the 11th century, some obscure Norman named William the Bastard decided he deserved the English crown, and invaded England. King Harold destroyed his army, but he wrote that, during the battle, an arrow flew by him "so close I could have grabbed it". So, WI, Harold is killed at the Battle of Hastings and the Normans somehow conquered all of England?

Ridiculously ASBy.

Even if Harald the great died in that unimportant battle, he had his brothers who would have raised the lands devorer and sacrified all the normans to their brother's spirit ( instead of allowing the survivors to live as slaves ). Even supposing, by whatever mean, that the saxon army at hasting had been defeated by the rabble from the continent, this was only a very small fraction of englands strengh, as most of the fyrd wasn't there. Even if ASb let the bastard vanquish england, he would have been crushed by the welsh or the scots. Both of them gave enough trouble to Harald; they would have crushed the normans without troubles.

So instead of Saxon england, you have welsh southern england and scotland encompassing northumbria. In anyway, Normans in France are crushed by Henry and the west frankish kings begin their march toward empire ( again ) using the wealth of their newly reconquered provinces, as per OTL.

OOC:  Do you seriously speak - er - English? That's amazing!

OOC: It's not fluent, it's me working stuff out with the help of dictionaries. But given how Old English would have moved on and evolved over 1000 years in a different way without French influence, it's probably close enough.

OOC: So that we can all understand this, please, if you choose to write in Old English dialect, include modern english subtitle. But good idea to write like that!

Well I guess the most important difference would be the Normans would establish continental feudalism in England and destroy the traditional balance of power between the king and the people; now if you will excuse me I have a Bohr meeting to go to and I am very late.
