PoD: Mehmed II does not die and conquers Italy
Italy faced a lot of chaos since Mehmed II and Bayezid II conquered all the way up to Tuscany while vassalizing anything North of the Papal States and Ancona.
A coalition of Northern Italians lead by the Savoyards in 1691, supportes by South German Princes, France and Spain ended the Turkish Rule in 1713, with the surrender of Brindisi. So a unified Kingdom of Italy was formed under the Savoyards. Italy became immediately an important player in Europe and formed a triple alliance with Spain and France.
Assuming Mehmed II never conquered Italy and thus never created a situation that Italy could unite, how would Italy fare? Would Italy be better off divided? Or would be a conflict zone between the Holy Roman Empire and the French King? What would happen to New Venice*?
Ooc: New Venice is where New Orleans should be...
