Nowadays, the "Cold Peace" is regarded as an intellectual and philosophical struggle between the Capitalist Nations and the Communist Nations, with conflicts being waged on academic writings and debates, scientific achievements, and economic level where the possibility of Nuclear War is practically nill.

But it might be a surprise, that the Soviet Union is not always being the champion of democracy and social justice they are today. In fact, after the Second World War until the rise of Comrade Khruschev, the Communist Bloc could be said to be a compilation of autocratic tyrants, using the communist-socialist ideals as a mask while they enrich themselves at the expense of their own people.

Of course, the Khrushchevian Reformation did not work as smoothly as he hoped, many of the Dictators in The Warsaw Pact and China refuses the Democratization plan, and for a moment, it was as if The Communist Block would fall instead, but in the end, popular supports sided with the Democratic Communism, and Krushchev's reforms finally paid out with stabilizing the way to head to the Age of Communism.

But what if Khruschev either did not have the balls to force the Reform or sacked by Politburo first? What if the Soviet Union stayed as an autocratic regime? Could The Soviet Union survive without becoming the Champion of Democracy and Social Justice as we know today?
