DBWI No German Invasion

1905

Kaiser Wilhelm wanted more colionies, he also wanted to end American influence because he thought it would be against german intrests, he was also convinced that America was a paper tiger at best and that germany could easily knock it out of the conflict and take what ever he wanted. So against his navy and army's advice he launched a sneak attack on us soil and landed a group of 20,000 german troops and ordered them to take the capital of the US.

This....did not go well for germany.

But what if the german sneak attack never happened what would our world look like today?

Well considering they got captured before they got organized and actually became a possible threat, for the US it wouldn't matter much. However, those 20,000 troops on the front instead of a US internment camp would mean the allies will have to fight harder for those pieces of land. Maybe a delay of a month, a rise in casualties surely. But other than that, not much.

Well, you have to remember we were still at the very early moments of the Entente Cordiale, and actually, the war is what solidified the Entente Cordiale into what is now known as the League of Nations.
What is certain is that the invasion freaked out the British enough for them to join the USA's side. And with the two greatest industrial powers at war with Germany, France was only happy to provide an entry point to their armies... in exchange for Alsace-Lorraine.
