DBWI: No Christopher Nolan Captain America films?

Christopher Nolan's Captain America trilogy had a massive impact on both film and superheroes. Before these movies, superheroes were thought of as entirely for kids, however Nolan gave us a complex, interesting trilogy that explored the themes of patriotism, freedom vs security, loyalty to one's country, and what it truly means to be a soldier. They also had an amazing Red Skull in the second movie; Christoph Waltz gave us the definitive performance of the character. So, what would change if these movies were never made?

Despite having a great actor in the villain role, the second film was pretty much an hour-and-a-half long defense of the War on Terror, which is inexcusable. He only ramped up the horrible politics with the third film, which had Oliver North as a consultant. I only hope the compassionate conservatism would have been greatly reduced if Nolan and his brother Jonathan didn't work on those films.

Well, from what I heard there were proposals for a Batman trilogy with Nolan at the helm. Perhaps the Marvel movies would look something like the DC cinematic universe (maybe an Avengers series similar to OTL's Justice League? Possibly with an R-rated Deadpool comedy rather than the somehow serious Tarantino-esque gore-fest that was the Punisher.)

OOC: Anyone else here thinks this should be a Fandom AH thread?

While I agree that these themes are somewhat present, they're handled quite subtly, and there is some nuance(for example, the SHIELD guy in the second movie who wants to torture the captured HYDRA agent is portrayed negatively).
