DBWI No canadian civil war

In 1995 Quebec voted to succeed from Canada, the Canadian government decided not to recognize their unilateral declaration of independence and sent in troops. This started a brutal civil war that lasted 5 years and is now the most bloody war Canada has ever been in with the highest death count of any of Canada's wars combined.

But what if the civil war didn't happen what would Canada look like today how would the world be changed?

Best case, a peaceful negotiation is worked out or Quebec just stays put. The way it happened was worst case all around - a Pyrrhic victory for Quebec. It was so bad the Canadiens played their home games in Bangor, Maine for six years, and the Expos hightailed it to Tampa and later Charlotte almost right away.

Canada turned pretty hardcore nationalist afterwards. I imagine they wouldn’t require military service, and the Maritime Republic wouldn’t be a major tech hub. I mean, why else would people Cape Breton, Nova Scotia into a metropolis and the Cape Breton Eagles be one game away from the Stanley Cup in their second season?
